WHITNEY FISCH — Chief Executive Officer (she/her)

Whitney Fisch, MSW, is a seasoned nonprofit leader with over 20 years of experience working within the Jewish communal landscape. She has a diverse background in social work, community organizing, and program development, with a particular focus on health and wellness initiatives. Whitney’s career has included leadership roles at the Anti-Defamation League and Milken Community Schools, where she developed and executed impactful mental health and wellness programs as their Director of Health and Wellness.

Most recently, Whitney served as the Executive Director of Hillel at Miami University, where she successfully led the organization through a period of significant growth, building strong relationships with students, university administration, and the broader Jewish community. Her leadership was marked by a commitment to fostering inclusive Jewish life on campus and advocating for Jewish student mental health and well-being while growing the operations budget by nearly 200% within the four years of her leadership.

In her new role as CEO of BaMidbar, Whitney brings her deep passion for mental health education and advocacy to a national platform. She is dedicated to scaling up BaMidbar’s impact by expanding its programs to support Jewish teens and young adults, and the adults who work with them. Whitney’s expertise in strategic leadership, her passion for creating positive change, and her ability to navigate complex systems make her an ideal leader for BaMidbar’s next chapter.

Whitney holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan and is currently a Cohort 8 Wexner Field Fellow. She is committed to empowering communities through experiential education and thoughtful engagement.

Whitney lives in the Cincinnati area with her family and continues to be actively involved in Jewish communal life.
