POSITION PURPOSE

The Boston Licensed Part-Time Clinician will join BaMidbar at an exciting moment of growth and transformation. BaMidbar has grown from a small startup into a leading national organization in the Jewish mental health sphere, with a $1.2M budget, six full-time staff, and a community of thousands of program alumni. 

The Boston Licensed Part-Time Clinician will join the BaMidbar clinical team in providing outpatient mental health services, providing clinical supervision, and carrying a caseload of 10-15 teens and young adults. They will see clients in person and via telehealth. The Licensed Part-Time Clinician will be a central member of the clinical team and will attend weekly individual and group supervision meetings; they will also provide supervision for provisionally licensed clinicians. The ideal candidate is a licensed, skilled clinician and excited to provide mental health care for Jewish teens and young adults.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry a clinical caseload of up to 15 clients and deliver high quality individual and group therapy sessions, both in person and via telehealth 
  • Provide clinical supervision for provisionally licensed clinicians 
  • Perform psychosocial evaluations, create treatment plans, and provide therapeutic services
  • Provide care to teens and young adults and collaborate with parents and community providers as needed
  • Preferably be available to see clients up to 2-3 evenings per week
  • Complete all clinical notes and documentation in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with insurance and state guidelines
  • Take part in individual and group supervision and attend staff meetings, as needed
  • Provide on call support as needed
  • Maintain privacy practices and compliance with HIPAA, including annual trainings
  • Administrative duties including managing client intake and record-keeping, in collaboration with BaMidbar’s operations staff

NEED TO HAVES 

  • Licensed as a LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, PhD, or PsyD in Massachusetts (or license-eligible if current license is out of state) 
  • Experience working with at least one (and preferably multiple) of the following populations: adolescents, emerging adults, and/or parents
  • Expertise in at least one (and preferably multiple) of the following areas: adolescent and/or emerging adult development, family systems theory, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders
  • Understanding of Jewish culture, values, and cycles, and if not fully understood, a willingness to learn and an appreciation for the cultural aspects of the program 
  • High ethical standards for care 


NICE TO HAVES 

  • Understanding of the national Jewish communal ecosystem, including the networks of youth and young adult-serving organizations (camps, Hillels, day schools, youth groups, synagogues, Federations, etc.)
  • Familiarity with family systems theory and ability to develop and implement psychoeducation for parents and caregivers 
  • Familiarity with adventure therapy and/or outdoor behavioral healthcare

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Base Compensation: Ranging from $60-70 an hour, paid monthly (estimated 10-25 hours/week, depending on caseload) depending on experience.

Position Overview
The Development Associate will play a vital role in ensuring the success of BaMidbar’s fundraising efforts by providing administrative and logistical support for development and marketing activities. This position is ideal for an early-career professional interested in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, event planning, and communications. The Development Associate will work closely with the COO and CEO to maintain donor records, coordinate fundraising campaigns, support grant reporting, and assist in donor stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Engagement, Stewardship, & Fundraising Campaigns (40%)
  • Maintain donor records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in the donor database (Salesforce).
  • Process and acknowledge gifts in a timely manner, ensuring donors receive personalized recognition.
  • Prepare donor impact reports, thank-you letters, and other stewardship materials.
  • Support senior staff in planning and executing donor appreciation initiatives.
  • Assist in coordinating fundraising campaigns, such as Giving Tuesday, year-end appeals, and other key initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop compelling fundraising materials, including email appeals, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Monitor fundraising campaign performance and compile reports on key metrics.
Grants & Foundation Support (20%)
  • Conduct prospect research to identify funding opportunities from foundations and corporate sponsors.
  • Assist senior staff in tracking reporting deadlines and grant deliverables, and compiling necessary materials for submissions, including documents and program impact data.
Event Planning & Coordination (10%)
  • Provide logistical support for fundraising and donor engagement events, both virtual and in-person (approximately 3-4 events per year).
  • Coordinate event registration, communications, and follow-up with attendees.
  • Assist CEO in developing sponsorship materials and tracking sponsor commitments.
Administrative, Database & Digital Tools Management (30%)
  • Maintain accurate records of BaMidbar’s CRM system.
  • Support COO/CEO in tracking of development activities.
  • Assist in preparing reports for board meetings and development committee meetings.
  • Utilize Canva to design donor-facing materials, including reports, event invitations, and social media graphics.
  • Manage email communications through Mailchimp, ensuring high-quality, engaging donor outreach.
  • Create and share donor impact stories through various communication channels
  • Update and maintain donor and fundraising information on BaMidbar’s website using website management tools (e.g., WordPress, Wix, or similar platforms).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience using digital tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, and website management tools (WordPress, Wix, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in donor databases or CRM platforms (experience with Salesforce or similar systems is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Passion for mental health advocacy and an understanding of the Jewish communal landscape is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
