This series is being offered in collaboration with Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston and Gateways as a part of the Developing Minds capacity building initiative. The Boston Jewish community has a vision to actively support its members in fostering mental health and wellness, and this series is designed to offer communal professionals working with teens and young adults the space to focus that care on themselves. In the weeks since the events of October 7, 2023, many of us have found ourselves receding into a state of burnout and compassion fatigue that we may not have experienced since the heart of the pandemic. Professionals are invited to take a step away from their day to day to nurture their own well-being.
- Session 1: Radical Self Acceptance
- Learning Objectives:
- Know: Professionals will hone a greater awareness and compassionate recognition of self-judgment patterns and trigger points.
- Do: Professionals will build practical skills to interrupt the cycle of negative self-talk, and nurture and practice self-compassion when we need it most.
- Feel: Professionals will walk away feeling nurtured, seen, and empowered to practice self-compassion by building an understanding of where self-doubt and self-judgment comes from and how those things may have served us evolutionarily.

- Session 2: Values, Burnout, and Boundaries
- Learning Objectives:
- Know: Professionals will identify the values that drive us in our work, and explore how those values fuel and fight our tendency to feel burned out.
- Do: Professionals will build strategies to implement realistic and effective boundaries to help fight personal burnout.
- Feel: Professionals will feel empowered in understanding our burnout trends and optimistic about our ability to use that understanding to better care for ourselves and our colleagues.
