As teachers and administrators work to re-invent how to interact with, engage, and teach students, many feel an overwhelming combination of stress, frustration and disconnection with the passion and joy they used to associate with their work. This webinar will use Self-Determination Theory – a model of motivation – to understand the core psychological needs that are affected by the radical changes we are seeing in our workplaces due to COVID-19. We will approach loss of motivation, identity, and drive as an understandable response to an environment that limits teachers’ sense of independence, competence, and connection. This webinar will offer administrators simple yet effective strategies to understand and address the challenging effects of COVID-19 on workplace motivation and passion amongst their staff.
